Thoughtless, effortless Change

I feel that before you can attract what you truthfully want, you need to understand fully why it is that you are attracting that which is not that. This is of course assuming you have already spent the time and mental exercise in uncovering what it is you truthfully want, differentiating it from that which you’ve been conditioned to want, or that which your ego wants.

It isn’t so much about pointing the ship in a new direction, at a new island, it is finding out why the ship is heading the way it is and most of the time simply understanding the previous course direction is enough to right it all on its own. I’ve given up trying to pick a direction at all anymore, having found that if I simply understand the ‘why’ behind all that is not true in my life my course ends up being exactly where i want to go, even if I had little to no hand in choosing the direction or being away that it is where I wanted to go.

It is all simply a matter of clearing away the debris in the stream by understanding why it is there, and then surrendering to where the river current takes you.  Surrendering to the fear that it may take you somewhere you don’t want to go, surrendering to the fear that if you don’t swim and struggle with the current that you won’t go anywhere, or more often than not surrendering to the fear of being taken any where at all as change seems to be that which human beings fear the most.

Colombia, is a prime example of that, not just Colombia but the exact 100 square meters in Colombia where I landed and am living.  I surely didn’t choose this place ahead of time, hell i didn’t even decide to go to Colombia until 30 days prior to my flight leaving. But here I am, every minute of every day filling me with gratitude that this is exactly where I want and should be in the world. All because I spent years taking my life apart, and just asking the question ‘why?’ a lot, about every single thing. Not to criticize, not to say this is bad and this is good, not even to change who I was, but simply to understand. Through this simple objective understanding I believe lies the only real path to change, effortless change like melting an ice cube in the afternoon sun.

A video that I can certainly list as helping me in on my journey of this understanding.
